EAST LANSING, Mich. — LABR, a Grand Rapids based company that specializes in connecting local businesses with flexible staffing solutions, has secured an investment from Michigan Rise Pre-Seed Fund III.
LABR has developed a mobile app to enable businesses to staff up and down as needed by ordering Helpers through their marketplace. The Business to Business (B2B) platform serves as the conduit between Helpers and short-term job opportunities, primarily within hospitality, construction, events, and distribution sectors. These Helpers are able to pick the shifts that fit their schedule/interests and receive prompt compensation after the job is complete. LABR also commits to collaborating with businesses that offer competitive wages well above minimum wage.
“Companies that rely heavily on seasonal revenue, like retail or construction for example, need reliable temporary staff,” said Tommy Skinner, Senior Venture Associate at Michigan Rise. “LABR has created a platform that helps businesses recruit young professionals and college students with flexible schedules who are the perfect fit for these types of jobs.”
The investment from Michigan Rise will be allocated to support product development, marketing efforts and talent acquisition to further enhance LABR’s services.
