EAST LANSING, Mich. — Mfg.parts, a Grand Rapids-based software company developing a collaborative manufacturing design platform, has secured an investment from Michigan Rise Pre-Seed Fund III.

“The best product development teams in the world rely on tight collaboration with their manufacturing partners,” said Joel Dodich, ex-Apple iPhone manufacturing engineer and CEO of mfg.parts. “Unfortunately, that collaboration has been through email for the last 20+ years. Our platform is killing email-driven product development, one feature at a time!”

The mfg.parts platform links product development teams to engineering data and facilitates seamless collaboration with manufacturing partners, covering the entire process from the first prototype to the start of production. It centralizes design and manufacturing discussions for customers, freeing up experts to concentrate on solving technical issues rather than searching for information.

“With scattered communications, keeping track of requirements, quotes and feedback can be difficult for the manufacturer and engineers,” said Calvin VanderWal, Venture Associate at Michigan Rise. “Mfg.parts has redefined the product development experience with software that seamlessly integrates engineering teams with their manufacturing partners.”

The funds from this investment round will support critical hires for product design, marketing efforts, and acquiring revenue-generating users. These activities will enable advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning features on the platform.
